Cuisinart DCC 1200
Amazon reviews this very popular coffeemaker as “strikingly retro in brushed stainless-steel with black-plastic accents, this 12-cup coffeemaker includes Cuisinart’s best brewing technology and premium features for ease and flexibility.”
From the sound of it, this is a good combination of good brewing technology with an affordable price (usu. $50-$150).

Bought this in July and was impressed with the sleekness and how easy it was to use. By December, it stopped working; that is, the water did not leave the reservoir. Prior to that I had to use extra coffee to make it strong enough for us which caused an overflow of coffee grinds. It continued to overflow until the end. I have had two Cuisinart machines; first one was the Grind and Brew model which did not grind very well. I will not buy another Cuisinart. I’ve moved up to a Delonghi.
Bought this machine 1 year ago and the on & off control doesn’t work now. No way to brew coffee. Other than this main fault, worked fine till now. Clock works so there is power.
Time to try another brand coffee maker.
Had this coffee maker for about 2.5 years. Loved it until it started smoking from an apparent electrical problem within the coffee maker. Now serching for a better, SAFER brand.
Bought this machine in May, January it was not working. It does have a three year warranty but it is limited so there is a $10 s & h fee and you have to ship the old unit back to Cuisinart in Arizona whikch will be expensive. After three phone calls , each time holding for 15 minutes and different directions on cleaning the unit. I decided that I will not be buying another Cuisinart.
