This is a gorgeous, easy to use machine with a warmer plate that actually works.

I get inconsistent shots from it. Weak, and not pouring evenly out both spouts. I contacted Breville and got no reply. I want to keep it because of the price, styling, and ease of use when it does work. I am hoping one of its many fans will get in touch with me for any tricks or tips. I have used both ground and pods. I am not a novice, either. Thank you!

This is a bad product. Many people report on websites it makes great coffee, but few report that it makes good espresso with crema. My machine has NEVER made an espresso with crema. I purchased the Breville Ikon in March 2007 here in Honolulu. I have tried every variation of grind (with Breville Grinder – a good product), tamp, pre-heat up, pre-infusion, and of course many many different bags of fresh and not-so-fresh espresso roast beans. To no avail. This machine is very smart looking. It froths milk very very well. It is convenient and efficient. And it does NOT make espresso with crema as a true espresso machine should do. And there is no access to internal components to see what could be adjusted. – AW
